SHIMLA : Standalone Profit Before Tax of public sector SJVN Limited rose to Rs. 445.07 crore for the first quarter of the Financial Year 2021-22 registering an increase of 15.86 percent over the corresponding quarter of previous financial year. Speaking after the Company’s Board Meeting held at Shimla today, Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of the company informed that the standalone net profit for the quarter had also registered an increase of 12.77 percent at Rs. 339.54 crore in June 2021 from Rs. 301.08 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY 2020. Total income of the company stood at Rs.702.38 crore during this period.
Sharma further informed that SJVN’s Net Worth had also jumped to Rs. 13100.97 crore at the end of first quarter of 2021-22 as compared to Rs. 12332.85 crore in the corresponding period of previous year. The performance is an excellent feat considering the recent global economic turmoil due to the pandemic situation he said.
The financial performance has lead to an increase of 11.69 percent in the EPS of the company during the quarter, as compared to the first quarter of previous year, while the book value has also registered an increase of 6.25%.
Nand Lal Sharma also stated that SJVN had bagged a 200 MW Grid connected Solar PV Power Project in Bihar through Open Competitive Tariff Bidding Process @ INR 3.11 /Unit on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis during e-Reverse Auction.
SJVN has also established an all-time record of power generation during the month of July 2021 at 1580 MU, surpassing the previous best of 1563 MU in July 2020.
Currently, SJVN has a portfolio of more than 9000 MW and is executing 27 Projects in Hydro, Thermal, Solar and Wind sector in India, Nepal & Bhutan in which 06 are under operation, 08 are under construction and 13 projects are under Survey & Investigation.
