“Mot uski hey jiska zamana karey afsos
Yun to sabhi ayen hen duniya mein marney k liye. “
Sahaswan/Budaun : 17 January 2021 Sunday was a day of disappointment for the classical music world and hundrends of millions of music lovers living in the country and abroad.  Veteran music composer Padam Vibhushan Ghulam Mustafa Khan passed away from this mortal world on Sunday, 17 January.  Padam Vibhushan Ghulam Mustafa Khan breathed his last at his residence at the age of 89.  On hearing the news of his death, a wave of mourning moved  in Bollywood and music world.  Padam Vibhushan Ghulam Mustafa Khan was born on 3 March 1931 in the historic district of Uttar Pradesh, Budaun.  His father’s name was Ustad Waris Hussain Khan and mother’s name was Sabri Begum who was the daughter of Ustad Inayat Hussain Khan.  Ghulam Mustafa Khan belonged to the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana.  For me and for the people of entire Sahaswan, it is a matter of concern that Padam Vibhushan Ghulam Mustafa Khan, who belongs to my native town Sahaswan, and Mushtaq Hussain Khan, who received the first Padam Bhushan in 1957, Inayat Hussain Khan and other legendary musicians,  Spreaded the musical scent all over the world and illuminated the name of our country India and native town Sahaswan and District Budaun all over the world.  Padam Vibhushan Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan was the eldest of his four brothers and three sisters.  Ghulam Mustafa Khan is left a whole family behind him including his wife Aamna Bi, who is a grand daughter of Padam Bhushan Mushtaq Hussain Khan.  Ghulam Mustafa has four sons named Ghulam Murtaza, Ghulam Qadir, Ghulam Rabbani, Alam and three daughters Nazma, Shadma and Rabia.  This musical legacy of Ghulam Mustufa Khan is being carried forward by his four sons, nephew Nadeem and his grandchildren Aamir Mustufa and Faiz Mustufa.  To give Ghulam Mustafa Khan his outstanding performance in the field of classical music and to enhance the pride of the country of India, the Government of India gave him Padam Shri in 1991 Padam Shri by the President of India K.R Narayana in 2006 Padam Bhushan by President  A.P. J. Abdul Kalam and in 2018  Padam Vibhushan by  President Ram Nath Govind and in addition to the Sangeet Natak Academy Award in 2003.  The fans of Ghulam Mustafa Khan are not only in India but also abroad.  Ghulam Mustafa Khan’s parents wanted him to be a musician, so he started his music education in his childhood.  After his father demise, Ghulam Mustafa Khan studied music from Ustad Fida Hussain and his master Ustad Nisar Hussain.  Away from the noise of the house, Ghulam Mustafa Khan chose the isolate atmosphere of the cemetery to perform practice and used to sit in the cemetery for hours.  Ghulam Mustafa Khan started singing at the tender age of 5 and performed on stage in Budaun with his father at the age of 8 and Ali Maqsood was the chairman who conducted the program in Budaun. As Ghulam Mustafa Khan was the eldest of his sisters and brothers and the responsibility of family was also on his shoulders and he faced his responsibilities with full dedication while facing the challenges of life.  There are many difficulties in the life of a human being and the hardships of time bring the person to the door of despair, but those who continue to struggle with patience  and with full devotion and honesty to achieve their goals, one day such a thing happens in his life when success touches the person’s footsteps and by this example, Ghulam Mustafa Khan proved that if human sets a goal in his life and continue to struggle for it, then  No strength  of entire world can stop him from succeeding.  Ghulam Mustafa Khan is not only a musician but also an inspiration for youngsters.  Ghulam Mustafa Khan left Mumbai from Budaun and before moving to Mumbai, he ruled the hearts of the people with a sweet voice of classical music in Kanpur, Mahmudabad and All India Radio in 1950.  Ghulam Mustafa Khan sang the first song in the Marathi language in 1951.  At that time there used to be a Victoria Garden in every city and it was a custom (tradition) that one was to be performed one’s skills in front of people interested in music on the occasion of Janmashtami and Ali Maqsood would organised such beautiful program.
